When the Harmonists moved to Indiana in 1815, Harmony was sold to a Mennonite community. While perusing manuscripts in Old Economy Village
I came across this hymn in an 1808 Mennonite hymnbook printed in Lancaster, PA. Originally published in 1547 with words by Louis Bourgeois, the German verses are paraphrases of the 23rd Psalm, the English paraphrase is my own.
